Health and Wellbeing

Welcome to New College Durham Health and Wellbeing Portal

About Us

At New College Durham, your health and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. We understand that wellbeing goes beyond just mental health — it includes your physical, emotional, and social health too. That’s why our Health and Wellbeing Portal has been designed as a supportive space where both students and staff can access helpful resources, activities, and guidance to stay well and feel their best. Whether you’re seeking information, looking to get involved in wellbeing initiatives, or need a bit of extra support, this is your space to thrive.

We are proud to promote an inclusive and supportive environment that celebrates diversity, encourages healthy lifestyles, and helps everyone reach their full potential — because when we feel well, we live well, work well, and learn well.

Mental Health Charter

We are committed to our College being a place where learning and working exists in an environment that advances equality of opportunity, celebrates diversity and promotes student and staff mental health and well-being.

Staff

At New College Durham, we recognise that the importance of health and wellbeing in both employment and education continues to grow. As demands on individuals increase, so does the need for strong, accessible support. That’s why we are committed to ensuring our staff not only feel supported in their own wellbeing but are also equipped with the knowledge and resources to guide and support others. Through our partnership with the Association of Colleges and our own Mental Health and Wellbeing Charter, we provide clear policies, practical tools, and ongoing training to create a college culture where wellbeing is prioritised, conversations are encouraged, and support is embedded at every level.
