Counselling

At College the Professionally accredited Counsellor will offer you an opportunity to talk to someone in a confidential setting who will not judge you. Counselling may enable you to make changes in your personal life, or help you to come to terms with a situation you struggle with. Careful listening is the main part of what a Counsellor does. Sharing your worries may help you to feel less isolated. The Counsellor may also discuss with you other agencies and/or services both in and out of College who can help.

For students who have a diagnosis of a mental health issue the College Counsellor can;

  • help you develop self-help and coping strategies for your time at College
  • offer support with course related issues around reasonable adjustments
  • help you access relevant external and internal support from other staff
